Downs

Well, I was having a really good time at singing (it always puts me in a good mood) but then I was in the car driving home. Sandy called. They got some test results from the hospital and Tanner has Downs Syndrome. I was overcome with tears and too many thoughts to record here. What I do know is that Tanner has the best parents in the world and God brought him into the most loving and caring family with a wonderful big brother and sister.

Whoever is reading this, if you could pray for our family. We don't know everything that we will encounter in the future but pray that God would give us courage and strength (especially for Gary and Sandy).

Kate I have finally become a Blogger & mostly because I really wanted to post a comment to you. I just found out about Tanner when D called Gary to see if they needed anything - I couldn't help feeling so sad for them & their kids, but I have so much confidence that he will have the greatest life w/Gary & Sandy as parents. I will be praying for all of you guys - I know that they will be making so many decisions regarding Work, Child Care, not to mention just your everyday "adding another child to the mix" decisions. I'm so thankful that Tanner will grow up in a household where he will know he is loved. It's great that your family will also have a HUGE support system full of people who love you & care for you. Prayers are the best, but call me if you need to go out for Coffee or Chocolate or Ice Cream or all of those.

I am also praying for you and the whole clan. You, Scott, Gary and Sandy are all awesome servants, and I know that God has something great in store for you and your families. When life isn't going as I expect it (which is most of the time), I remember Romans 8:28:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. So be encouraged, Sister. And keep on singing - out loud and in your heart. God is listening to all of our songs: upbeat and thoughtful, peppy and soulful, shouting and searching.

I know how much of a comfort you and Scott are to Gary & Sandy. Keep your chins up. Let us know what we can do.

Hi Kate

Just happened to come across your blog (I was going to say 'by accident' - but I guess God intended me to find it!)

I'll be praying for you all as a family, and especially for little Tanner.

Make sure you keep singing - and keep your joy! I know it's a real hard time - but I pray that you will all experience God's presence in an amazing way!

God bless you all!
